My Films
The Courage to Change
Just make the change.
My second most popular film on YouTube. Released in March of 2025, this film’s origin actually traces back to a journal entry from many months prior.
“We literally talked about being too much in your head and not doing anything in the real world. It’s the coward’s way out; to live entirely in your own imagination of hypotheticals. Now that’s an idea for a film.” - Sept 23, 2024
It wouldn’t be until January, after being inspired by my reading of both the book of Job and “The Courage to be Disliked”, that I’d craft the script for this. Then, after a few weeks of putting off production, the film was released with zero expectations. At that point, I was so fed up with my own procrastination I was desperate to clear this project from the pipeline. Next thing I know it’s the most commented on video on my channel. Funny how that works.
a film about growing up
The film that started it all.
I owe my much of my “success” as a YouTube filmmaker to this 90-second film, written one angsty December evening as I contemplated the upcoming decade of my life. It’s truly incredible and encouraging to see how deeply this simple, and in my opinion, amateur video resonated with so many people. This also began a tradition of releasing a new “a film about ___” every year in December. Currently only the sequel, “a film about figuring it out” has been released and the third installment, “a film about starting over” is in the works.
Sailin’
And happy we’ll be, beyond the sea
I’ve always had a predilection for crooner jazz and day dreams of decades past. So when I had the opportunity to use a preserved, 1930s ferry boat to shoot a cinematic portrait I didn’t hesitate to jump on it. Honestly, this piece is a testament to how a killer location and beautiful talent make all the difference.
This cinematic portrait was a blast to shoot and I really like the results, but the YouTube algorithm didn’t agree so I’m adding it to this featured section. It’s my website, I do what I want.
CAUTION
Yay sports.
CAUTION is a training film created as promotional material for my college’s soccer team. I don’t typically work within the realm of sport videography, but I’m still proud of this one. This video was featured in an episode of the 505 Podcast and the boys seemed to like it, so that’s cool.
Time to Think
You weren’t thinking about anything else?
This one’s from the period of time where I was thinking film directing would be my career path. Although that’s no longer the plan, this was still a really enjoyable piece to work on. The quirk of counting the seconds of silence is inspired by a real life friend of mine who gets a kick out of informing everyone how long a duration of silence was.
